Technology & Healthy Teeth

More than ever, people today place a high value on having healthy, attractive teeth. In order to maintain that standard, we recommend the earliest possible care for problems. Dr. Chelsea Mason stays up to date with the latest technology and tools to detect problems at the earliest possible point.

Identafi® Oral Mucosal Visual Enhancement System

Because it’s difficult to see the signs and symptoms of oral cancer with the naked eye, Dr. Mason uses the Identafi® system. This technology is on the front line of detection, helping dentists identify biochemical and morphological changes in the cells of your mouth, throat, tongue, and tonsils.

OralDNA Labs®

While the fluoridation provided in much of America’s tap water has improved oral health, it also has resulted in harder tooth enamel. The harder enamel makes it more difficult to detect lesions beneath the surface of the tooth.

That’s where DIAGNOdent helps. DIAGNOdent offers a simple, fast and painless way for us detect hidden decay in your teeth before damage is done. That means we are able to better protect and preserve your healthy smile.

With DIAGNOdent, we can see more clearly into your tooth. Finding problems earlier means we can offer minimally-invasive treatments.

iTero Scanner

Chelsea Mason Dental has added new state-of-the-art digital impression system designed to make your visit more comfortable and your exam more accurate.

Our new iTero® Element™ Intraoral Scanner creates dental impressions without uncomfortable, putty-filled dental impression trays. You can breathe and swallow as normal while we scan your mouth. It’s fast, accurate and there’s no unpleasant taste or smell.

Best of all, though, the resulting 3D scan of tooth surfaces and gum tissue is more detailed and precise than the older method.

Dr. Mason uses the 3D model of your mouth to create crowns, bridges, implants and Invisalign clear aligners and retainers. This allows Dr. Mason to create devices with a precision fit. Dr. Mason can even show you how your teeth may look after Invisalign treatment, so you can decide if you want to go forward with treatment.
